“The Lord needs it” (Mark 11:3), says Jesus, in the Palm Sunday story, giving straightforward guidance to the two disciples tasked with making preparations. Now, the Lord needs us to do His work, with our hands and hearts, as the body of Christ. In this time of loss and uncertainty, we remain hopeful, caring and generous -- pausing to adapt to the present situation, but not hitting the pause button.
Emanuel is showing its resiliency and strength. Your gifts of time, talent and treasure remain steadfast. Monetarily, offerings through April have not fallen off, and Emanuel’s social ministry programs and Pastor’s discretionary account continue to benefit from your gifts. We are holding up, but we mustn’t let up.
Thus, we remind you (to the extent to which you are able), please continue with your offerings. Offerings should be mailed to 197 Manville Road, Pleasantville, NY 10570. To move money digitally there is Zelle, a new electronic payment option, and you may also arrange with your bank to have your offerings sent to Emanuel via check with no fee to you or Emanuel.
Your generosity is a comfort. As we continue to navigate these uncharted waters as a church, together joined in faith, we’ll persevere. If you have any questions please reach out to any member of the Stewardship Committee: Ruben Garcia, Tom McTique, Karen Nurmi, Denise Rempe and Mark Wilson.
